My final project was to do a site for a friend who runs a non-profit organization called Grandmothers raising Grandchildren.
I restarted three times before liking the final version. I kept on trying different styles across Mozilla, IE7 and Safari. The final version works across all three. Working with pictures was also a time consuming process. My client is a photographer so the images she sent were about 3 Mb each and I had to spend time in trying to determine which size would be optimal and not take too long to load.
I tried to stick to the wireframe submitted but ended up adding a page (baskets - at the request of client) and not including the recent posts on all of the pages except for the blog. I opted to not have a comment option on the blog because my client is 63 years old and would not be monitoring the comments of visitors. The blog will be used as a means on updating those interested about the project. To create a new post, the client would logon via the login page with a username and password. test/test was used to input sample entries. Going forward realized that should also include option to edit and/or delete previous posts - this option is not currently available.

Update on ecommerce
I've finally been able to get rid of the flickering on the ecommerce site. I've overwritten the previous file and the updated file is here.

Class 7 - Assignment
My assignment from class7 will be posted next week. A little bit more time is required to make sense of all the components. Also not helping was lack of internet access for most of the week.

Client Side Assignments
I've spent some time this week trying to "clean up" the assignments that we've been assigned. Below is what I've been able to accomplish.
Class 1 - Wireframe
Class 2 - Basic XHTML
Class 3 - Intermediate XHTML
Class 4 - Forms
Class 5 - Advanced XHTML / CSS / Javascript
On class 5 assignment, I used Sharon's javascript code to get the events working on the thumbnails. Still have to try and remove the flickering.

Update on assignment from class 5
I was having difficulty in setting up the event handlers and looked at Jack's setup to get an idea of what the js file should look like. I've tried to recreate it on my page but something is off. The details of the thumbnail is listed below the images as can be seen here which means that the positioning is off. Will continue trying to get it right.
